Glickman Capital is the leading Los Angeles based LBO firm acquiring companies in Southern California. Prior to founding Glickman Capital , Mr. Glickman was Managing Director and Managing Member of Knightsbridge Holdings LLC, which led LBOs with total enterprise values in excess of $125 million during Mr. Glickman's tenure.
Mr. Glickman's management experience includes ten years running successful telecommunications companies. He founded and currently serves as Chairman of TelePacific Communications, the largest telephone company headquartered in California . Mr. Glickman led fundraising efforts, which succeeded in attracting $225 million from leading investors including GE Capital, Rader-Reinfrank, Investcorp, and The Hillman. At the time of Mr. Glickman's resignation as CEO, TelePacific had a market capitalization of $500 million.
He is also the founder and former CEO of Justice Technology Corporation, an international telecommunications carrier which, under his leadership, became the fastest growing privately held company in America , topping the INC 500. His experience also includes senior executive positions at American Express.
From 1995 to 2000, Mr. Glickman was also the managing partner of two private-equity funds, Milestone Ventures and El Abono Telemedia Enterprises. Mr. Glickman's philosophy of investing in very few companies, and taking an extremely active governance role in those select portfolio companies, yielded immense returns for the investors. Both funds, managed exclusively by Glickman, distributed cash/appreciated stock resulting in mark-to-market IRRs to the investors in excess of 50% per year.
In addition to top governance positions at Glickman Capital portfolio companies, Mr. Glickman also holds many civic leadership positions. He is the Vice-Chairman of The Hollywood Bowl, an active Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Dream Foundation, and the Young Presidents Organization. He is a past Director of PTT Chile, the United Way Food Partnership and co-Founder and Chairman of the Board of the California Association of Entrepreneurs.
Mr. Glickman earned a degree in Economics from the Wharton School of Business and a Master of Arts with honors from the University of California, Los Angeles. David Glickman frequently speaks at leading graduate business schools and served as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the Wharton School of Business.
Prior to joining Glickman Capital, Kevin Dretzka was a Managing Director of Eastdil Realty Company, a real estate investment banking firm that arranges sales and mortgage placements for owners of institutional-grade properties. He was the senior partner in the Los Angeles office of Eastdil, which became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wells Fargo in 1999. Since joining Eastdil in 1987, Kevin Dretzka has completed over $6 billion in debt and equity transactions. His representative southern California assignments include ARCO Plaza, the Omni Hotel, 707 Wilshire (Aon Tower), Two Rodeo Drive, 1900 and 1901 Avenue of the Stars, the Universal City Sheraton, The Disney Channel Building in Burbank, and the Anaheim Marriott. Prior to joining Eastdil, he was a vice president of Heron Properties, a private London-based real estate firm, where he was a project manager of office properties located in New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Miami.
Mr. Dretzka received his B.B.A. and M.S. degrees from the University of Wisconsin. He is a director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, the Los Angeles Union Rescue Mission capital campaign, the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers endowment campaign, the Accelerated School (a charter school located in South Central Los Angeles) and Vice Chairman of South Central Family Health Center, a medical clinic that serves residents living in Los Angeles's poorest neighborhoods. In addition, Mr. Dretzka is a director of Gi Sanka Corporation (an employee benefits administration firm) and a founding partner of Pulliam LLC, a business park development company, Kentwood Venture a land investment company, Del Valle Homes, a residential land developer and home builder, and ICM Energy Investors, a private oil & gas exploration firm.
Ms. Doubroff oversees administration of Glickman Capital. Prior to joining Glickman Capital, Ms. Doubroff brings her experience from The Walt Disney Company, Justice Technology Corporation, TelePacific Communications, and Eastdil Realty Company. Ms. Doubroff was born, raised and went to college in Southern California.
